Este año la Convención de la Diversidad Biológica de las Naciones Unidas e ligió celebrar la  BIODIVERSIDAD DE LAS ISLAS DEL MUNDO , ya que en ellas y en sus alrededores marino-costeros cohabitan especies únicas y endémicas, además de ser una fuente económica y de identidad cultural para 600 millones de personas asentadas en ellas. En el Golfo de California  se distribuyen aproximadamente  900 islas e islotes, afortunadamente libres de asentamientos humanos, con algunas excepciones.  Además de su riqueza biológica de especies de flora y fauna, abundancia de endemismos y existencia de sitios importantes de reproducción de aves y lobos marinos; las islas del Golfo de California son reconocidas mundialmente por su belleza paisajística y la riqueza marina de sus aguas  adyacentes.   BiodiversidART celebra este día tan especial con esta obra titulada "Don Juanes" ,   ya que justo en esta temporada los pelícanos ( Pelecanus occidentalis ) se encuentran en su etapa reproducti
